# GoodTask vs NotePlan

The clearest difference is monetization model: GoodTask at free with in-app purchases against NotePlan's subscription. GoodTask also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs monthly). NotePlan's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.6) and review sentiment (85% vs 73%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GoodTask sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per year and NotePlan sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NotePlan holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2K and 1.5K respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 73% of GoodTask's written reviews are positive against 85% of NotePlan's.

GoodTask ships an update every 4 days, NotePlan monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
