# ZY Play vs Hohem GimSet

The clearest difference is rating: ZY Play at 2.4 against Hohem GimSet's 2.0. ZY Play also leads on ratings volume (661 vs 26). Hohem GimSet's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 10.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ZY Play holds the better App Store score, 2.4 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ZY Play has 661 ratings behind it against 26, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 16% of ZY Play's written reviews are positive against 20% of Hohem GimSet's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ZY Play ships an update every 2 months, Hohem GimSet fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
