# METIS 4 vs Thermometer

The clearest difference is update cadence: Thermometer at every 10 days against METIS 4's every 26 months. METIS 4's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

METIS 4 ships an update every 26 months, Thermometer every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
