# Ritchie Bros. vs OilfieldTrader

The clearest difference is monetization model: OilfieldTrader at free against Ritchie Bros.'s free with in-app purchases. OilfieldTrader also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Ritchie Bros.'s advantage is ratings volume (18K vs 8) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

OilfieldTrader holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ritchie Bros. has 18K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Ritchie Bros. ships an update every 3 weeks, OilfieldTrader every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
