# Countdown Timer vs Countdown Widget Timer

The clearest difference is monetization model: Countdown Widget Timer at free with in-app purchases against Countdown Timer's subscription. Countdown Timer's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (76% vs 43%). On price, rating, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Countdown Timer sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Countdown Widget Timer sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Countdown Widget Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 371 and 484 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 76% of Countdown Timer's written reviews are positive against 43% of Countdown Widget Timer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Countdown Timer ships an update every 3 weeks, Countdown Widget Timer every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 8, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
