# spacedesk vs Smart Projector Control

The clearest difference is rating: spacedesk at 4.7 against Smart Projector Control's 2.6. spacedesk also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (2.3K vs 21). Smart Projector Control's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and review sentiment (83% vs 71%). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. spacedesk sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Smart Projector Control asks for nothing beyond the download.

spacedesk holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: spacedesk has 2.3K ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of spacedesk's written reviews are positive against 83% of Smart Projector Control's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

spacedesk ships an update every 3 weeks, Smart Projector Control every 5 months. Both last shipped on November 2, 2026.
