# TextEdit vs QuickEditor

The clearest difference is rating: QuickEditor at 5.0 against TextEdit's 3.7. QuickEditor also leads on device support (4 vs 2) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 26.0). TextEdit's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (378 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TextEdit sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and QuickEditor sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

QuickEditor holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TextEdit has 378 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 17% of TextEdit's written reviews are positive against 13% of QuickEditor's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TextEdit ships an update weekly, QuickEditor every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
