# TextEdit vs Keeply

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Keeply at 100% against TextEdit's 17%. Keeply also leads on rating (5.0 vs 3.7) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). TextEdit's advantage is ratings volume (379 vs 2) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TextEdit sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Keeply sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Keeply holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TextEdit has 379 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 17% of TextEdit's written reviews are positive against 100% of Keeply's.

TextEdit ships an update weekly, Keeply fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
