# Barometer Plus vs Torr

The clearest difference is update cadence: Torr at every 5 days against Barometer Plus's every 6 weeks. Torr also leads on rating (4.4 vs 4.0). Barometer Plus's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Barometer Plus sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Torr sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Torr holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 409 and 181 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Barometer Plus's written reviews are positive against 57% of Torr's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Barometer Plus ships an update every 6 weeks, Torr every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 20, 2026.
