# Barometer Plus vs Barometer

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Barometer Plus at 64% against Barometer's 35%. Barometer Plus also leads on update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (420 vs 70). Barometer's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 4.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Barometer Plus sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Barometer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Barometer holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Barometer Plus has 420 ratings behind it against 70, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Barometer Plus's written reviews are positive against 35% of Barometer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Barometer Plus ships an update every 6 weeks, Barometer every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
