# The Pattern vs CPB Ecademy

The clearest difference is rating: The Pattern at 4.0 against CPB Ecademy's 3.5. The Pattern also leads on ratings volume (15K vs 2) and chart position (#29 vs unranked). CPB Ecademy's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 14) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Pattern sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. CPB Ecademy asks for nothing beyond the download.

The Pattern holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Pattern has 15K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of The Pattern's written reviews are positive against 50% of CPB Ecademy's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

The Pattern ships an update weekly, CPB Ecademy every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
