# Write on Screen vs Note Widget

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Note Widget at 64% against Write on Screen's 0%. Note Widget also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 11 months) and ratings volume (12K vs 1). Write on Screen's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Write on Screen sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Note Widget sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Write on Screen holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Note Widget has 12K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Write on Screen's written reviews are positive against 64% of Note Widget's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Write on Screen ships an update every 11 months, Note Widget weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
