# Flipd vs Freedom

The clearest difference is monetization model: Flipd at free with in-app purchases against Freedom's subscription. Flipd also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.1). Freedom's advantage is review sentiment (64% vs 49%) and chart position (#183 vs unranked). On price, rating, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flipd sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Freedom sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Flipd against 4.4 for Freedom. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 7K and 5.9K respectively. Written reviews are what separate them: 49% of Flipd's written reviews are positive against 64% of Freedom's.

Flipd ships an update every 11 days, Freedom every 9 days. Both last shipped on October 2, 2026.
