# Flipd vs A Basic Girls Guide

The clearest difference is rating: Flipd at 4.5 against A Basic Girls Guide's 3.7. Flipd also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (7K vs 3). A Basic Girls Guide's advantage is review sentiment (81% vs 49%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flipd sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and A Basic Girls Guide sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flipd holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flipd has 7K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 49% of Flipd's written reviews are positive against 81% of A Basic Girls Guide's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Flipd ships an update every 11 days, A Basic Girls Guide every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
