# Flipd vs Focus Timer & Friend

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Focus Timer & Friend at 100% against Flipd's 49%. Flipd's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 3.7) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flipd sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Focus Timer & Friend sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flipd holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flipd has 7K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 49% of Flipd's written reviews are positive against 100% of Focus Timer & Friend's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Flipd ships an update every 11 days, Focus Timer & Friend fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
