# FlipHTML5 vs Outside

The clearest difference is rating: Outside at 4.6 against FlipHTML5's 3.0. Outside also leads on ratings volume (1.8K vs 8) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FlipHTML5 sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $18.99 per month and Outside sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $89.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Outside holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Outside has 1.8K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 15% of FlipHTML5's written reviews are positive against 22% of Outside's.

FlipHTML5 ships an update every 2 months, Outside every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
