# Alpha2 vs SMART GC2

The clearest difference is update cadence: SMART GC2 at fortnightly against Alpha2's monthly. Alpha2's advantage is iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Alpha2 ships an update monthly, SMART GC2 fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
