# RadioTropRock vs DestinFM

The clearest difference is ads: RadioTropRock at none against DestinFM's shown. RadioTropRock also leads on ratings volume (452 vs 15) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). DestinFM's advantage is update cadence (every 6 months vs every 19 months). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for RadioTropRock against 5.0 for DestinFM. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RadioTropRock has 452 ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

RadioTropRock ships an update every 19 months, DestinFM every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
