# When vs SingleThread

The clearest difference is ads: SingleThread at none against When's shown. When's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. When sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and SingleThread sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

When ships an update fortnightly, SingleThread every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
