# Timeline vs Recorda

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Recorda at none against Timeline's 3. Recorda also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs monthly) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). Timeline's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 11) and rating (4.5 vs 4.3). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Timeline sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Recorda asks for nothing beyond the download.

Timeline holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Timeline has 1.2K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 66% of Timeline's written reviews are positive against 73% of Recorda's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Timeline ships an update monthly, Recorda every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
