# Timeline vs The Residence

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: The Residence at none against Timeline's 3. The Residence also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and review sentiment (100% vs 66%). Timeline's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 1). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Timeline sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. The Residence asks for nothing beyond the download.

The Residence holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Timeline has 1.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 66% of Timeline's written reviews are positive against 100% of The Residence's.

Timeline ships an update monthly, The Residence every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
