# OpenArt vs Chon

The clearest difference is rating: Chon at 4.6 against OpenArt's 1.0. Chon also leads on update cadence (every 11 days vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (19 vs 1). OpenArt's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 75%) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Chon holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chon has 19 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of OpenArt's written reviews are positive against 75% of Chon's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

OpenArt ships an update every 4 months, Chon every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
