# EGF vs Access By Troon

The clearest difference is rating: EGF at 4.0 against Access By Troon's 3.5. EGF also leads on monetization model (free vs freemium) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). Access By Troon's advantage is review sentiment (22% vs 0%) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

EGF holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Access By Troon has 31 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of EGF's written reviews are positive against 22% of Access By Troon's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

EGF ships an update every 2 months, Access By Troon fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
