# Monkey Sounds! vs Rainforest Connection

The clearest difference is rating: Rainforest Connection at 4.8 against Monkey Sounds!'s 4.2. Rainforest Connection also leads on ratings volume (277 vs 10) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). Monkey Sounds!'s advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 92%) and iOS requirement (7.0 vs 14.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Rainforest Connection holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rainforest Connection has 277 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Monkey Sounds!'s written reviews are positive against 92% of Rainforest Connection's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Monkey Sounds! ships an update every 2 months, Rainforest Connection fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
