# Small Square vs Hitty Knife

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Small Square at 89% against Hitty Knife's 13%. Small Square also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and ads (none vs shown). Hitty Knife's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 3.2) and ratings volume (4.3K vs 6). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hitty Knife sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Small Square asks for nothing beyond the download.

Hitty Knife holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hitty Knife has 4.3K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 89% of Small Square's written reviews are positive against 13% of Hitty Knife's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
