# DXO vs Sound Amplifier

The clearest difference is rating: Sound Amplifier at 4.6 against DXO's 2.6. Sound Amplifier also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 64 months) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 11). DXO's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 6) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sound Amplifier sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. DXO asks for nothing beyond the download.

Sound Amplifier holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sound Amplifier has 1.2K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two.
