# HISTORY Vault vs Sh8ter

The clearest difference is update cadence: HISTORY Vault at monthly against Sh8ter's every 4 months. HISTORY Vault also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (17.6 vs 26.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HISTORY Vault sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Sh8ter sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

HISTORY Vault ships an update monthly, Sh8ter every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
