# Houzcall vs plasticpay

The clearest difference is monetization model: plasticpay at free against Houzcall's free with in-app purchases. plasticpay also leads on review sentiment (89% vs 70%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Houzcall's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (54 vs 5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

plasticpay holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Houzcall has 54 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 70% of Houzcall's written reviews are positive against 89% of plasticpay's.

Houzcall ships an update every 3 weeks, plasticpay every 4 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
