# Vent vs EMBER Smart Heating Control

The clearest difference is rating: Vent at 5.0 against EMBER Smart Heating Control's 3.4. EMBER Smart Heating Control's advantage is review sentiment (52% vs 20%) and ratings volume (9 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Vent holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EMBER Smart Heating Control has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of Vent's written reviews are positive against 52% of EMBER Smart Heating Control's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. Both last shipped on November 2, 2026.
