# Flex Messenger vs BLE Messenger

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Flex Messenger at none against BLE Messenger's 1. Flex Messenger also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 14.0). BLE Messenger's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 80%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BLE Messenger sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Flex Messenger asks for nothing beyond the download.

Flex Messenger holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Flex Messenger's written reviews are positive against 100% of BLE Messenger's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Flex Messenger ships an update every 6 months, BLE Messenger every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
