# GPSmonitor vs G

The clearest difference is update cadence: G at every 4 months against GPSmonitor's every 12 months. G also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GPSmonitor ships an update every 12 months, G every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
