# MRCOOL Remote vs Carrier CliMate

The clearest difference is iOS requirement: MRCOOL Remote at 9.0 against Carrier CliMate's 13.0. On price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Carrier CliMate holds the better App Store score, 1.7 against 1.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 71 and 105 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 11% of MRCOOL Remote's written reviews are positive against 6% of Carrier CliMate's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MRCOOL Remote ships an update every 20 months, Carrier CliMate every 25 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
