# GIS4Mobile vs TerraNotes

The clearest difference is update cadence: GIS4Mobile at every 3 weeks against TerraNotes's every 2 months. TerraNotes's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GIS4Mobile sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.49 per month and TerraNotes sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

GIS4Mobile ships an update every 3 weeks, TerraNotes every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
