# Risky Road vs Space Wave

The clearest difference is rating: Risky Road at 4.3 against Space Wave's 3.0. Risky Road also leads on ratings volume (2.3K vs 2). Space Wave's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 months) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Risky Road sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Space Wave sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Risky Road holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Risky Road has 2.3K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Risky Road ships an update every 5 months, Space Wave fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
