# GlossGenius vs BraidHouse™

The clearest difference is monetization model: BraidHouse™ at free against GlossGenius's subscription. BraidHouse™ also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5). GlossGenius's advantage is ratings volume (4.5K vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

BraidHouse™ holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GlossGenius has 4.5K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

GlossGenius ships an update weekly, BraidHouse™ every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
