# Angelcam vs Smartfrog Home Security Camera

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Angelcam at none against Smartfrog Home Security Camera's 4. Angelcam also leads on ratings volume (235 vs 36). Smartfrog Home Security Camera's advantage is review sentiment (83% vs 50%) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Smartfrog Home Security Camera sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Angelcam asks for nothing beyond the download.

Angelcam holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Angelcam has 235 ratings behind it against 36, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Angelcam's written reviews are positive against 83% of Smartfrog Home Security Camera's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Angelcam ships an update every 2 months, Smartfrog Home Security Camera every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
