# QR Reader vs Flash Access

The clearest difference is ads: Flash Access at none against QR Reader's shown. Flash Access also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). QR Reader's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

QR Reader ships an update every 3 weeks, Flash Access every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
