# OakScanner vs Stamps.com Mobile App

The clearest difference is review sentiment: OakScanner at 73% against Stamps.com Mobile App's 6%. OakScanner also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and iOS requirement (8.2 vs 17.6). Stamps.com Mobile App's advantage is rating (4.1 vs 3.7) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Stamps.com Mobile App holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Stamps.com Mobile App has 626 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of OakScanner's written reviews are positive against 6% of Stamps.com Mobile App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

OakScanner ships an update every 5 months, Stamps.com Mobile App every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
