# Radio Amber vs Bioscope+

The clearest difference is rating: Radio Amber at 4.7 against Bioscope+'s 1.5. Radio Amber also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and iOS requirement (8.2 vs 15.6). Bioscope+'s advantage is ratings volume (252 vs 6) and review sentiment (12% vs 0%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bioscope+ sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Radio Amber asks for nothing beyond the download.

Radio Amber holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 1.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bioscope+ has 252 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Radio Amber's written reviews are positive against 12% of Bioscope+'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Radio Amber ships an update every 3 weeks, Bioscope+ monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
