# VideoLUT vs Cineon

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Cineon at none against VideoLUT's 3. Cineon also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.6). VideoLUT's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 10 months) and rating (4.3 vs 3.9). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VideoLUT sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Cineon asks for nothing beyond the download.

VideoLUT holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VideoLUT has 356 ratings behind it against 38, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 68% of VideoLUT's written reviews are positive against 50% of Cineon's.

VideoLUT ships an update every 3 days, Cineon every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
