# BrightChat vs ChatDip Messenger

The clearest difference is rating: BrightChat at 4.6 against ChatDip Messenger's 4.1. BrightChat also leads on ratings volume (190 vs 14) and device support (3 vs 1). ChatDip Messenger's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 75%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

BrightChat holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BrightChat has 190 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of BrightChat's written reviews are positive against 100% of ChatDip Messenger's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BrightChat ships an update every 3 weeks, ChatDip Messenger fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
