# dr.CAFE Coffee vs Unipal

The clearest difference is rating: Unipal at 4.8 against dr.CAFE Coffee's 4.2. Unipal also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). dr.CAFE Coffee's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 34%) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Unipal holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: dr.CAFE Coffee has 479 ratings behind it against 76, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of dr.CAFE Coffee's written reviews are positive against 34% of Unipal's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

dr.CAFE Coffee ships an update weekly, Unipal every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
