# StoneKey vs mTranslate

The clearest difference is review sentiment: mTranslate at 75% against StoneKey's 6%. mTranslate also leads on price (Free vs $1.99). StoneKey's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (3.6 vs 3.3). On ratings volume, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

mTranslate is free to download; StoneKey costs $1.99 up front. StoneKey sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and mTranslate sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

StoneKey holds the better App Store score, 3.6 against 3.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 5 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 6% of StoneKey's written reviews are positive against 75% of mTranslate's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

StoneKey ships an update every 3 weeks, mTranslate every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
