# Chat vs NEXT Messenger

The clearest difference is review sentiment: NEXT Messenger at 61% against Chat's 23%. NEXT Messenger also leads on rating (3.7 vs 3.5). Chat's advantage is ratings volume (20 vs 3) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.5). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

NEXT Messenger holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 3.5.
