# ELSA Speak vs Learning English

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Learning English at 93% against ELSA Speak's 42%. ELSA Speak's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.7 vs 4.3). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ELSA Speak sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and Learning English sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $8.49 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ELSA Speak holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ELSA Speak has 114K ratings behind it against 43, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of ELSA Speak's written reviews are positive against 93% of Learning English's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ELSA Speak ships an update weekly, Learning English every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
