# Scrolling Snake vs Snake Balls

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Scrolling Snake at 69% against Snake Balls's 12%. Snake Balls's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 3.9) and ratings volume (824 vs 7). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Snake Balls holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Snake Balls has 824 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 69% of Scrolling Snake's written reviews are positive against 12% of Snake Balls's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Scrolling Snake ships an update every 4 months, Snake Balls every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
