# Matrix vs Failure

The clearest difference is update cadence: Matrix at every 5 days against Failure's monthly. Matrix also leads on iOS requirement (8.2 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Matrix sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Failure sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Matrix ships an update every 5 days, Failure monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
