# Bookly vs Reading List

The clearest difference is ads: Reading List at none against Bookly's shown. Reading List also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.6) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). Bookly's advantage is chart position (#19 vs unranked) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bookly sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Reading List sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Reading List holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 63K and 30K respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 84% of Bookly's written reviews are positive against 93% of Reading List's.

Bookly ships an update monthly, Reading List fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
