# Timer vs Stopwatch

The clearest difference is rating: Timer at 4.5 against Stopwatch's 3.7. Timer also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 60 months) and ratings volume (82 vs 7). Stopwatch's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Timer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per month. Stopwatch asks for nothing beyond the download.

Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Timer has 82 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 72% of Timer's written reviews are positive against 67% of Stopwatch's.

Timer ships an update fortnightly, Stopwatch every 60 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
