# Timer vs Countdown

The clearest difference is ads: Countdown at none against Timer's shown. Timer's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 months) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Timer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per month and Countdown sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Timer ships an update fortnightly, Countdown every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
